Mary Louise Hancock Appointed by President Carter as full-time Special Assistant to the Regional Administrator of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Mary Louise Hancock, at 58, was appointed, with the concurrence of HUD Secretary Patrica Harris, by President Jimmy Carter to serve as a liaison between HUD and all six New England states. Edward Martin, who directed HUD's New England operations said "her firm background in community development and housing" would be particularly helpful in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. He said Gov. Hugh J. Gallen "indicated his interest in her" and recommended Ms. Hancock for the job.
